My Personal Story with Kaiut Yoga
Have I ever told you about my first time with Kaiut yoga?
Today, I want to tell you the story of my very first Kaiut yoga class ever, and the unexpected thing that happened there.
To tell you the truth, I came to Kaiut yoga amidst the most difficult time in my life.
If you’ve been through a big trauma or loss in your life, you’ll know what I mean.
In 2014, my beloved husband passed away unexpectedly, in a traumatic circumstance that our 13-year old son and I directly witnessed.
Soon after, as my mind and soul were struck with immense shock, stress, and devastating grief, my body began breaking down.
Months went by, and as I tried to adjust to my new life, and did my best to integrate what had happened, my physical symptoms only worsened.
For about a year, I searched far and wide for anything that would help me.
I tried it all: traditional and alternative medicine, Western and Eastern approaches, physical and emotional modalities — nothing helped.
My health continued to decline, and I became frightened.
And suddenly, Kaiut appeared, a unique form of yoga that presented itself as an anti-aging, joint maintenance practice.
I found the tagline encouraging, because the inflammation in my joints was extreme, and although I was only in my late 40s, I felt like I was 80 years old!
As I took my first class at my local South Boulder yoga studio, I intuitively knew this was the practice I would heal myself with.
